Our Mission

HECSol is dedicated to reducing human-elephant conflict by protecting vital habitats and majestic elephants. We empower local communities through practical, community-led initiatives that promote peaceful coexistence.

Together, we are building a safer and more sustainable future for both people and wildlife.
Our Programs
HECSol is committed to bridging the gap between wildlife and humans through practical steps:Â
-
Community Engagement: Empowering local communities to prosper in wildlife-shared spaces.Â
-
Field Protection: Training farmers to use non-harmful deterrents like bee-hive fences and chili ropes to safely direct herds away from crops.Â
-
Identify and protect defined Pathways: Working with local leaders and authorities to map and protect traditional elephant routes, keeping animals away from homes.Â
-
Rapid Response Units: Organising local teams to safely manage elephant encounters in real-time.Â
-
Education & Awareness: Pivotal to long-term conservation success and sustainable farming practices.Â

The Farmers' Toolkit
Â
We developed and deploy a practical set of tools and guidelines designed to help the farming communities deter elephants from their farms. The original tools were scientifically trialed and tested before community engagement. Once their proven effectiveness, the toolkit was presented to local residents who were given the choice to adopt and trial them in real-time within their fields. The individual participant’s decisions to participate reinforced ownership and trust in the program.
Â
The tools that make up the kit are low-cost, low-maintenance, sustainable, adaptable, and user-friendly. Their effectiveness is vital to the success of the program. Every farmer participating is trained on the toolkits setup, daily monitoring and upkeep. After seasonal crops are harvested, it is encouraged that the tools be taken down and stored for long-term use.Â

Education & Awareness
Education has been a cornerstone of our coexistence program, laying the foundation for long-term harmony between people and elephants. Through our Coexistence Team, we deliver community presentations at gatherings and schools, provide safety and precaution training for living alongside elephants, and distribute learning materials to households and schools. These efforts foster a deeper understanding of elephant behavior, promote safer practices, and empower communities to take ownership of coexistence. By combining education with innovative, technology-driven solutions, we safeguard livelihoods and protect our shared natural heritage for generations to come.
Community Engagement

HECSol actively strengthens communities by fostering awareness and resilience through hands-on engagement. Its outreach programs bring people together in workshops and training sessions focused on environmental conservation farming, equipping participants with sustainable practices that protect both livelihoods and ecosystems.
Alongside this, HECSol conducts wildlife safety talks that improves their knowledge and awareness to coexist safely with elephants and other species, reducing conflict and promoting harmony within their environment. By combining education, practical skills, and dialogue, HECSol’s community-centered approach ensures that conservation is not just a distant goal but a shared responsibility rooted in everyday life
